Ship of Fools is a tongue in cheek parody of an old time detective story that got its start a couple of years ago, of all places, on a cruise.  It's amazing what a full moon some good friends and a full night of celebrating will do for creativity.

Follow the adventure of Mike Sledge (is that something like hammer?) on the biggest case of his life.  Mike meets three beautiful women, an unlikely pimp turned mercenary, a sinister waiter, the Costa Maya Police Department, and Costa Maya's leading business man.  Not long after, one of the three women goes missing and the hunt is on.  The story has a happy ending years later when the girl turns up as a dancer in the local fiesta.  Sounds odd?  You bet!

That's life in Costa Maya, baby!

The story does not take itself very seriously, but begs for use in competitive speech or even reader's theater.  If you are looking for a good piece of humorous literature for competition, email me and I can arrange for you to see the work in its entirety.  It can be edited for competition length with out much problem.  I can advise you on that as well.

I wrote this to entertain myself while I was in Iraq and it did the trick.  It got rave reviews from the troops too.  Enjoy.
